Functional Fitness

The goal of Functional Fitness is to improve our ability to do everyday tasks.  Whole body exercises are designed to improve posture, strength, and gait.  Targeted functional exercises improve movement patterns and can mitigate pain and injuries.

    Functional Fitness has 8

        main movements:

           Squat           Lunge

           Push             Pull

           Hinge           Twist

           Balance       Step

Performing every day activities without good alignment or core engagement can lead to pain, wear and tear and injury.  Relearning alignment and strengthening the muscles required for movement is the key to improved function.

Whether addressing injury prevention or injury recovery, a home program of functional exercises is an ideal way to stay strong and independant.  Walking, lifting, gardening, even getting a turkey out of the oven can be improved!
